My plan over the next several months, my is to enjoy time with my husband, family and enjoy the holiday season without a rush..
I am also working on getting my FOOD PRESERVATION CERTIFICATION. I would love nothing better than to teach the next generation to preserve either their homegrown foods or locally purchased foods either by canning, freezing, dehydrating or freeze drying for better health and knowledge. You will know that what you are feeding yourselves and your family is safe and not filled with preservatives or other things that you can't pronounce. I am looking forward to helping as many families as I can to be healthy and whole. Thank you so very much for your generous support over the last several years!

Summer is in full swing...We made through the Pandemic and things are looking up.
The garden and herbs are growing great and the chickens are laying like crazy. I feel so very lucky and blessed to have a beautiful life. I get to see so many wonderful people and do what I love. I am hoping that everyone is feeling great and positive about this new season with tons of possibilities to enjoy your life and all those you love . Jump in with both feet to do your passion in life. You will struggle and sometimes fall on your face, but in the end you will find the rewards for all the efforts and time you invest in you and what you believe in. Always know that I will be here to help you and give you encouragement. Just move forward and never look back. Happy new beginnings. Well we had a wonderful January as far as our weather was concerned, however February wanted to remind us that Winter is still in control. Hope everyone was safe during the snow/ice/rain storm.
Just wanted to let everyone know that we are still opened at THE GROVE this month. Our new schedule will be Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. We are making both Jams of the Month this year as well as a few new baked goods. I love making my Hot Milk Cake for people to enjoy so I thought you just might like the recipe. I received this recipe from my wonderful mother-in-law many years ago and when I make the cake, it makes me so happy. My husbands' family and my family really enjoy it...so here goes: Old Fashioned Hot Milk Cake 1 Cup of Milk 3 Eggs 2 Cups of Sugar 2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract 2 Cups of Flour 1 Teaspoon of Baking Powder 1/4 Pound of real Butter Pinch of Salt 1. Put milk and butter in a pot on the stove. 2. Cream Sugar and eggs until light and fluffy 3. While creaming the sugar and eggs bring milk and butter to a boil, then turn off 4. Mix flour and salt, add to egg/sugar mixture one spoon at a time , then add hot milk mixture.(be careful it will be hot). I usually put in one spoon at a time as well. 5. Add vanilla 6. Last add the baking powder. Bake 45 minutes at 375 degrees. Check the cake with a tooth pick or cake tester. When it comes out clean remove from oven. I use a fancy Bundt pan, let cool in pan for 15 minutes, then remove, cool and sprinkle with powered sugar...enjoy! Let me know if you made it and how it turned out. See you at THE GROVE Well we made through the crazy year of 2020. All things were up and down, but we still made it.
We are looking forward to a fantastic year of bringing joy to our customers thru our products. We have been so very blessed to meet all of our wonderful customers and I am so happy that you are enjoying my products. As you can see from our new product list, we have changed things up a bit. Please let me know what you think, and send any suggestions for consideration. Wishing everyone great health, happiness, fun and wonderful prosperity. We lost our Beautiful Honey Girl last Monday, January 6, 2020. She added so much joy to our world. She was the reason we named our business "HONEY'S DREAM HOBBY FARM".
She loved her life so much here I really do believe it was her dream to run free and share in all of our doings on our little piece of heaven. From chasing chickens to acting like a big dog, she was incredible. Her legacy will live on as long as we keep our business and dreams alive. I hope to post some wonderful pictures of her life in the near future. She touched our hearts more than we could ever say. She is missed so very much for her crazy barking at nothing to snuggling up on Ernie's lap every night. Thank you for all your support and keeping our dream and Honey alive in our hearts. Canning is a dying art. It is a subject that I would love to teach to the next generation. In learning canning, you and your family can create healthy alternatives to processed (and over processed) foods. Just starting out learning small things like growing your own vegetables and canning for the winter season. It is so wonderful to open and fix a product made by your own hands. You not only know what your eating, but you can feel great about giving your family food that will be both healthy and delicious.
Do you think it would be a smart choice to teach a class like this? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks so much for coming by, I am looking forward to hearing from you. |
